New works by HKBU lecturers receive premieres

Three works from our faculty members will be featured in the Musicarama 2014, an annual contemporary music festival organized by the Hong Kong Composers Guild that focuses on programming works by Asian composers.

Dr. Anthony Cheng’s Lost and Regain (2014) and Dr. Joyce Tang’s Lineae (2014) will have their world premieres by the Romer String Quartet in a concert entitled, “Lost and Regain—Multimedia Concert for Dance and Music,” on 17 November 2014, 8pm in Hong Kong City Hall Theatre.

Dr. Austin Yip’s Resonance from an Unreachable End (2013) will receives its Hong Kong premiere by the Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble after its multiple performances in Taiwan since last year. This concert, entitled “Anamnsis—Music and Heritage,” will be held in Hong Kong City Hall Theatre on 18 November 2014, 8pm.
